FP7 / PCRD 7
Das 7. Rahmenprogramm für Forschung und technologische Entwicklung - FRP7 - besteht aus allen europäischen Initiativen zur Förderung der Forschung, den Bemühungen um Beschäftigung, Wachstum und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit in Europa zu stärken. Es ist komplementär zu den PIC (Programm für Wettbewerbsfähigkeit und Innovation) und allgemeine und berufliche Ausbildung und zu den regionalen Strukturfonds.
Es handelt sich hierbei um das wichtigste Instrument zur Finanzierung der Forschung in der EU für den Zeitraum 2007-2013. Das Budget für sieben Jahre beträgt 50.5 Milliarden Euro, und das Euratom-Budget für den Zeitraum 2007-2012 ist 2.7 Milliarden Euro;
FRP7 unterstützt die Forschung in vielen Kernbereichen, mit dem Ziel, dass die EU die Führungspositionen in diesen Bereichen gewinnen oder erhalten kann.
